“High deductible health plans worsen health outcomes for cancer survivors… and access to health savings accounts do not help.
Policies should discourage (not promote) insurance plans that disincentivize seeking necessary and lifesaving care.
This JAMA Network Open cross-sectional study found that high-deductible health plans were associated with worse survival for cancer survivors, perhaps because they financially disincentivized necessary medical care.”
