“The ‘Outside Hospital‘ – 100 Encounters
Every doctor encounters an ‘Outside Hospital’ (OSH) at some point in their career – the systems, communities, institutions, and realities that exist beyond the traditional hospital walls.
These 100 encounters draw from my experiences over more than three decades of working in, around, within, and beyond the OSH.
The cases and experiences are real.
However, the hospitals, countries, institutions, administrators, healthcare professionals, policymakers, nurses, doctors, and other individuals are fictionalized and are not intended to represent any actual person or institution.
Most hospitals, to varying degrees, have aspects of the OSH within them.
These stories are not about individuals or institutions. They are about experiences, lessons, challenges, and the human realities of healthcare.
100 encounters.
30+ years.
Stories from beyond the clinic. Stay tuned! ”
