Françoise Meunier, Founder of the European Initiative on Ending Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors, shared on LinkedIn:
“The Right To Be Forgotten must become a reality in every European country.
Over the years, I have seen the Right to Be Forgotten move from a dream to a reality in a growing number of European countries. I have also recognised how different the journey looks from one country to another. This is why Session II of the High – Level Conference ‘The Right to Be Forgotten as a Human Right: Ending Financial Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors’ on 21 October is dedicated to national perspectives.
I am very pleased that Hugo R. Soares, Emma H., Prof. Dr. Inken Hilgendorf, Dr. Gabriele Calaminus, Pavel Trcka and Marina Ximeri will bring perspectives from Portugal, Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Greece. Their experiences will help us look beyond the principle itself and ask an essential question: what does effective protection actually look like in practice?
Together, we will examine at what has made progress possible, which obstacles remain and what we can learn from one another, so that no cancer survivor in Europe is left behind.
Join us and be part of the conversation!
Time: 21 October 2026
Location: Fondation Universitaire, Brussels
Associated Event of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026.”
