Françoise Meunier, Founder of the European Initiative on Ending Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors, shared on LinkedIn:
“The Right To Be Forgotten starts with listening to cancer survivors.
At the High – Level Conference on 21 October in Brussels, we will begin by giving the floor to those whose experiences show why the Right To Be Forgotten is so important.
I am very pleased that Jacqueline Daly, Magali Mertens de Wilmars, Dr Stefan Schmidt, Miriam Vogt and Izabella Chelkowska, together with Antonella Cardone will bring survivor experiences and patient perspectives to the centre of the discussion.
We will hear experiences from different countries, including where the Right To Be Forgotten is already protected by law and those whose statutory protection is still absent.
The end of cancer treatment should also mark the beginning of a new chapter. A diagnosis from the past should not continue to affect access to insurance or limit a person’s life. Their voices remind us that the Right To Be Forgotten is ultimately about allowing cancer survivors to move forward with dignity, equality and freedom to rebuild their lives.
Join us and be part of the conversation!
Time: 21 October 2026
Location: Fondation Universitaire, Brussels
Associated Event of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026.”
