Françoise Meunier: Bringing Life After Cancer and Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors to the PACE

Françoise Meunier, Founder of the European Initiative on Ending Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors, shared on LinkedIn:

“Thank you to Women@PACE for bringing life after cancer and discrimination against cancer survivors to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe today.

I was pleased to discuss alongside Grazia Scocca, Elena Bonetti, Saskia Kluit, H.W. (Rian) Vogels, and Victoria Tiblom whose contributions and personal testimonies reminded us that behind every policy discussion are human beings, families and lives affected by cancer. The discussion highlighted how limited visibility these barriers can have. Raising awareness remains essential if we are to turn survivors’ experiences into effective legal protection.

The Right to be Forgotten is a matter of human rights. It concerns dignity, privacy and the ability to move forward without being permanently defined by a past cancer diagnosis.

These questions will be at the heart of our High-Level Conference on the Right to be Forgotten as a Human Right, on 21 October in Brussels. I look forward to continuing this discussion with survivors, policymakers, clinicians and legal experts.

Please register.”
