“A vital step forward in supporting children with cancer and their families in Senegal.
The Maison des Parents opened its doors in the Banlieue de Dakar just three years after the idea first emerged.
The inauguration brought together partners behind the project, the Minister of Health, the Mayor of the city, the parents’ organization, children with cancer, a dedicated team of pediatric oncologists, people from the local village and even neighbours.
This new facility offers temporary accommodation and support in order to reduce treatment abandonment and ease the immense emotional and financial burden families face.
This initiative is part of My Child Matters, our long-standing program to improve access to childhood cancer care and support community-led solutions that make a lasting difference.”
