Accompanying Patients Beyond the Hospital – Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS

Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS shared a post on LinkedIn։

“Treating an illness is essential, but helping people regain their autonomy to return to living and working is just as important.

To meet this need, a new integrated clinical-occupational project is starting at the Gemelli Polyclinic, winner of the INAIL BRIC call and coordinated by Professor Ivo Iavicoli. The goal is to build paths capable of accompanying patients ‘beyond the hospital‘, integrating health, quality of life and professional reintegration.

The study will initially involve patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease and women being treated for breast cancer. By opening a dialogue between specialist medicine and occupational medicine, the project will lay the foundations for a multidisciplinary model capable of transforming a condition of fragility into a real opportunity for inclusion.”
