Florian Scotté: New Strategic Partnership Between League Against Cancer and AFSOS

Florian Scotté, Head of the Interdisciplinary Division of Patient Pathways (DIOPP) at Gustave Roussy Cancer Campus, shared a post from League Against Cancer on LinkedIn, adding:

Quoting League Against Cancer:

“Thank you to Philippe Bergerot for this outstretched hand as soon as he was caught! On the road to a productive partnership for our patients and their loved ones.”

“Working together to advance supportive care

The Ligue contre le cancer and the Association francophone de soins oncologique de soutien (Afsos) share a common conviction: supportive care is essential to improve the quality of life of people affected by cancer, during and after treatment.

Because the challenges are numerous and the needs are still too unevenly covered across the country, our two organizations have chosen to join forces, their expertise and their commitments.

On the one hand, the scientific expertise of Afsos. On the other hand, the League’s ability to mobilise and its territorial anchoring through its 103 departmental committees, spread throughout France.

“The League Against Cancer and the AFSOS – Association Francophone pour les Soins Oncologiques de Support are today taking a new step in their cooperation in the service of people with cancer. This agreement demonstrates a shared desire to structure, secure and promote supportive oncology care so that it is accessible to all, everywhere in the country,”

says Philippe Bergerot, President of the League Against Cancer.

Together, we are pursuing a common goal: to advance access to quality supportive care for all sick people, everywhere, without conditions.

This ambition involves the development of research in supportive oncology care, but also the construction of common tools, standards and benchmarks to contribute to a harmonised care pathway throughout the country.

Guaranteeing equitable access to supportive care requires sustainable national funding, commensurate with the challenges, to reduce inequalities in the face of the disease.
