”It was a privilege to participate in the XLVI International Congress on Pain and Palliative Care and to present some of the findings on the global gap in access to aliviodeldolor and cuidadospaliativos, one of the great inequities facing our health systems today.
Closing this gap requires transforming the way we understand and care for suffering, incorporating palliative care and pain relief as essential components of universal, equitable, and evidence-based health care.
Dialogue with health professionals, researchers, students, and all those working to alleviate suffering reminds us that closing the global pain gap is a collective task.
