“The G7 Leaders’ Declaration on Cancer underscores our collective commitment to:
a) accelerate international data sharing, particularly for paediatric and AYA cancers;
b) address poor prognosis cancers;
c) increase accessibility to quality cancer care for all.
These are the foundational elements of the G7 Cancer, formed in 2023. The Canadian Institutes of Health Research | Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada and CIHR Institute of Cancer Research are proud to be one of its 7 founding members, and are grateful to the efforts from our Canadian scientists, including: Christine Williams, Carolina Ilkow, George Zogopoulos, Aisha Lofters, Ambreen Sayani, Rayjean Hung, Darren Brenner, and Jennifer Brooks, who have worked tirelessly on the four G7 Cancer Working Groups.
This Call for Action underscores the importance and value of international collaboration as we all work together to reduce the burden of this disease for all citizens in Canada and around the world.”
