Federico Nichetti, Medical Oncologist at Veneto Institute of Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by N. Taranto at al. published in ESMO Open:
“It’s a frequent topic of conversation: the perception that today’s oncology residents are more focused on personal quality of life. While this shift is a positive one, it often comes at the expense of the committment in research, a field that still requires an ‘unhealthy’ amount of overtime.
Rather than relying on gut feeling, this article puts the issue into perspective with real data.
There are no simple slogans here, but my thought remains the same: in oncology, patients’ care and research are two sides of the same coin.”
