Fatma Nihan Akkoc Mustafayev, Clinical Research Associate at Miami Cancer Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Honored to give an oral presentation on our study of Hispanic GBM outcomes at SNO2025 in Hawaii.
Our key finding: Survival varies significantly by country of origin.
Patients from the Dominican Republic and South/Central America showed the most favorable outcomes, while Mexican and Cuban patients had lower survival. These distinctions highlight the importance of disaggregating Hispanic subgroups when examining disparities in cancer care
Grateful to my mentor, Dr. Manmeet Ahluwalia, and our amazing research team for their support and collaboration.
Proud to contribute to work that advances equity in neuro-oncology.”
