Fabian Theis, Director of the Institute of Computational Biology and Professor at TUM Mathematics and Life Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Exciting news before the holidays! New career opportunities in Health AI at the Helmholtz Munich Computational Health Center.
Munich offers a uniquely rich environment for computational biology, AI, and biomedical research — with close connections between foundational AI experts, systems and single-cell biologists, translational scientists, and clinical partners across all biological and medical scales.
In this vibrant ecosystem, we are opening several new positions that strengthen this interface and invite outstanding researchers to join us. We are currently hiring:
1) Principal Investigators in Health AI and AI Foundations
PIs who will shape the next generation of AI in biomedicine or AI methods research, with deep opportunities to collaborate across Helmholtz Munich, Helmholtz AI, and clinical partners.
2) Health AI Fellows (Independent Postdoctoral Fellowships)
A unique fellowship to support early-career researchers in developing an independent research profile in Health AI and computational biomedicine.
3) Clinical AI Consultants (AI–Clinic Interface)
A new clinical AI consulting track in partnership with TUM Klinikum rechts der Isar, LMU Klinikum München, within Munich Medical Alliance M1.
Ideal for clinically trained colleagues looking to bridge clinical needs with AI-driven innovation and work closely with our existing AI consulting teams.
If you, or someone in your network, are passionate about shaping the future of Health AI, computational medicine, or AI-enabled clinical transformation, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Please share these opportunities widely within your networks!
Wishing everyone a restful holiday season and an inspired start into 2026.”
