Eva Zopf, Exercise Scientist and Head of the Cancer Exercise Lab at Cabrini HEALTH and Senior Researcher at the Australian Catholic University, shared a post on LinkedIn by PREFERABLE-II, adding:
“Recently, I posted about our JCNI Monograph paper outlining considerations for the delivery of live-remote exercise for people diagnosed with cancer.
We are applying this approach in a large-scale international study funded by the EU and NHMRC. We have recruited 200 participants, but are aiming for 352.
If you know or treat anyone who has completed primary cancer treatment, which involved chemotherapy, in the past 3-12 months and is experiencing ongoing side-effects, they may be eligible to take part in the PREFERABLE II – LION Study.
In Australia, we can include people from anywhere in Victoria, and everyone will receive a free 12-week individualised exercise program delivered via Zoom. For further information, please contact [email protected].”
Quoting PREFERABLE-II’s post:
“We are proud to share that 200 participants have now been included in our project. The 200th participant was included at our partner in Melbourne, Australia. This success is the result of incredible teamwork and dedication across the team. A big thanks to everyone who is recruiting for us: nurses, oncologists, surgeons, and researchers. We appreciate the effort!
On to the next step!”
