“Are you an oncology trainee looking to bridge the gap between undergraduate studies and advanced specialist training?
This ESO course is designed specifically to provide a solid foundation in multidisciplinary cancer care and offer a real-world insight into the professional life of a modern oncologist.
Built around learning outcomes from internationally published curricula, this course focuses on clinical decision-making, optimal sequencing of therapies, and the power of multidisciplinary teams.
You will gain structured updates on:
- Fundamentals of etiology and epidemiology
- Basics of cancer genetics, staging, and imaging
- Essentials of surgical oncology and pathology
- Principles of radiotherapy and chemotherapy
- Introduction to paediatric oncology
- Overview of tumour boards and key patient-centred issues
- Introduction to clinical trials and critical appraisal of scientific literature
The course is divided into two parts:
- Online learning (pre-recorded lectures made available online)
- In-person event in Porto, Portugal, 4-7 December 2026
