“Dedicated to every young professional
At the beginning of every year, we all do the same thing, we plan.
We write goals.
We set timelines.
We say, “This year I will achieve this, I will become this, I will do that.”
And truly, planning is good. Planning is necessary.
But when the year ends and we sit down for monitoring and evaluation, many of us realize something painful:
Some goals were achieved, yes, but many were delayed, abandoned, or replaced by excuses.
And one silent enemy is usually responsible for this: procrastination.
- Procrastination kills vision.
- Procrastination kills discipline.
- Procrastination kills destiny.
We oftenly say:
“I’ll do it tomorrow.”
“Next week.”
“Next month.”
“When the time is right.”
But time does not wait for anyone.
Here is a simple rule that can change everything:
- If something can be done in three minutes, it should never take three weeks.
- If something can be done in two minutes, don’t postpone it for two months.
Do it. Finish it. Move forward.
Small actions done consistently build great outcomes.
Big dreams collapse when small tasks are delayed.
Stop squeezing time.
Stop waiting for “perfect conditions.”
There is no perfect time, there is only now.
What you can do today, do it today.
What can be finished in three hours, don’t stretch it to three weeks.
What can be done now, don’t postpone.
As we move forward, especially as students and young professionals, let us choose action over excuses, discipline over delay, and purpose over procrastination.
Your vision is valid.
Your goals are achievable.
But only if you act.
Start now.
Start small.
Start today.
Thank you.
Erick Mahatara.”
