Eric J. Dimise: Accelerating Immunotherapy and the Promise of Cancer Cures

Eric J. Dimise, Director, Healthcare and Life Sciences Capital Markets at NYSE, an ICE Company, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Last week, when the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) joined us at NYSE for their annual Biotech Strategic Meeting, after ringing the Opening Bell (see my prior post!), James Gulley MD PhD FACP and Zhen Su, MD MBA (CEO, Marengo Therapeutics) spoke to J.D. Durkin on NYSE TV. Check out their segment below. A few snippets from their commentary:

Dr. James Gulley, on the aims of the SITC Biotech Strategic Meeting

‘SITC annually brings together stakeholders – investors, biopharma, biotech, academics – to have a discussion, a strategic discussion about the future of immunotherapy. What we’re trying to do is look at the opportunities and barriers to bringing new immunotherapies to help patients.’

Dr. Zhen Su, on the progress that has been made in IO:

‘We use this very important word – cure. It used to be, ‘cure’ is a dream. Cure is ‘hope.’ And now, I think we’ve very much reached [the point where] cure is a reality, is a possibility, is not too far away from patients. We’re starting to see cancer immunotherapy transforming cancer care, because now patients live longer and live to a quality they never had before, with their family, with their loved ones.’

Johanna Grossman, PhD and I are always honored to host this amazing group of oncology thought leaders and were so pleased to help spotlight SITC during Cancer Immunotherapy Month. Thanks again to the entire SITC community for all that you do to advance cancer care and deliver hope to patients.”
