Enrique Soto: Excited to Announce About BRIDGE Global Oncology Fellowship Program

Enrique Soto, Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz, shared on LinkedIn:

“Excited to announce that applications are now open for the BRIDGE Global Oncology Fellowship Program!

At the University of Colorado Anschutz Cancer Center, we believe that meaningful global oncology partnerships should go beyond education and training. They should create opportunities for collaboration, build local capacity, and translate knowledge into real improvements in cancer care.

That is why we are launching BRIDGE (Building Research, Implementation, Development, and Global Engagement), a new fellowship program designed to support healthcare professionals working to improve cancer prevention and care in their home countries.

Our inaugural cohort will welcome four fellows from Guatemala for a four-week, individualized experience at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, followed by six months of mentorship to develop and implement projects back home.

We are looking for Guatemalan healthcare professionals interested in making a difference in four priority areas:

  • Cervical cancer prevention and screening,
  • Cancer registries and data systems,
  • Resource-stratified clinical guidelines,
  • Palliative and supportive care.

The fellowship is open to physicians, nurses, public health professionals, researchers, and other professionals involved in cancer control.

Applications are open until December 7, 2026, and can be submitted in English or Spanish.

We are incredibly excited to build new bridges between Colorado and Guatemala, support the next generation of cancer-control leaders, and turn international collaboration into meaningful action.

To our colleagues in Guatemala: we encourage you to apply! And to everyone in our network, please help us share this opportunity!”
