Enrique Grande, Adjunct Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post by Ashish M. Kamat, President of IBCG, Associated Editor at European Urology Oncology, on X, adding:
“And what about offering chemo-radiation if residual tumor is still in place after EVP x 4 cycles and patient still refuses surgery? Would you still insist on EVP or be brave enough for follow up?”
Quoting Ashish M. Kamat’s post:
“If a patient in front of you refuses RC after EVP, the honest answer is enrollment in a prospective surveillance protocol with predefined imaging and biopsy triggers for salvage therapy. (EV-209; NCT07475806) NOT quiet endorsement of surveillance as standard of care. ”
