Emmanuel Ghandilyan: Grateful to Have Participated in the OMI Seminar on Thoracic, Head and Neck Cancers

Emmanuel Ghandilyan, Resident Physician at Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, shared on LinkedIn:

“I am grateful to have participated in the Open Medical Institute (OMI) Oncology Seminar on Thoracic, Head and Neck Cancers, held in Salzburg, Austria, in October 2026, in partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

It was an incredibly valuable week of learning, bringing together oncologists from 23 countries and offering an excellent opportunity to explore current advances in the diagnosis and multidisciplinary management of thoracic, head and neck malignancies.

My sincere appreciation goes to the Open Medical Institute and the American Austrian Foundation for organizing this outstanding educational program, and to the distinguished MSKCC faculty – Dr. Jennifer R. Cracchiolo, Dr. David G. Pfister, Dr. Snjezana Dogan, Dr. Mark G. Kris, and Dr. Bernard Park – for generously sharing their expertise, clinical experience, and insights.

I am also grateful to Dr. Andreas Rimner for his valuable contributions.

One of the most rewarding aspects of continuing medical education is seeing its impact beyond the classroom. Just days after returning to clinical practice, I have already been able to apply some of the knowledge gained during the seminar, particularly in recognizing clinical signs that led to the early diagnosis of an oral cavity malignancy.

Experiences like this reinforce how continuous learning, international collaboration, and multidisciplinary knowledge can directly contribute to better patient care.

Grateful for the opportunity, the knowledge gained, and the connections made.”
