Emmanouil Saloustros: The Personalization of Treatment in Breast Cancer Is at the Heart of Modern Oncology

Emmanouil Saloustros, President of the Board of Directors at ΕΟΠΕ – HeSMO, shared on LinkedIn:

“The personalization of treatment in breast cancer is at the heart of modern oncology.

On 31 October, at the Acropolis Museum, the scientific event of the Pharmaserve-Lilly S.A.C.I. Society, under the scientific supervision of ΕΟΠΕ – HeSMO, entitled ‘Optimizing Treatment Across HR+/HER2− Breast Cancer: New Insights and Tomorrow’s Strategies’, was held with great success.

We had the pleasure and honor to host Professor Stephen Johnston, an internationally recognized scientist with a significant contribution to the advancement of breast cancer treatment.

Through his excellent speeches and substantive discussions with Greek colleagues, critical questions of daily clinical practice emerged:

  • How can we more accurately assess the risk of recurrence in early breast cancer and personalize treatment?
  • How do we choose the optimal sequence of treatments in metastatic disease, leveraging the ever-increasing therapeutic potential?

At EOPE, we believe that continuous scientific education, international cooperation and meaningful scientific dialogue are key conditions for improving oncology care.

We warmly thank Professor Stephen Johnston, Ms. Thalia Lalla, Ms. Katerina Kotsori for organizing and all panelists and participants for their contributions, as well as Lilly for supporting this educational initiative.

We continue to invest in knowledge and collaboration, with the common goal of providing the best possible care for every cancer patient.”
