Emad Shash, General Manager at National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, Member Board of Trustees at The National Alliance for Civil Development Work, President at Egyptian Gynaecological Oncology Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”This morning at the Madinaty Half Marathon, I completed the 5K run, and it was much more than a race.
It was a beautiful morning full of energy, movement, smiles, family, friends, and a true sense of community.
What made it special was not only crossing the finish line, but enjoying the journey, sharing the moment with people I care about, and feeling the power of being active together.
As an oncologist, I am constantly reminded that health is not built only inside hospitals and clinics. It is built in our daily choices, in our families, in our communities, and in the culture we create around prevention, awareness, and well-being.
Physical activity is one of the simplest and most powerful messages we can promote. It supports prevention, survivorship, mental health, and quality of life. It also gives us a chance to turn health awareness into something joyful, visible, and shared.
Cancer awareness should not be limited to campaigns. It should be part of everyday life, in every step we take toward healthier families and stronger communities.
Today was a reminder that every step counts.
Grateful for the experience, the family time, the friendship, and the energy of everyone who showed up.”
