Emad Shash, Leading Cancer Researcher and Director at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“On International Nurses Day, I had the privilege of celebrating our exceptional nursing team at the Breast Cancer Comprehensive Center (BCCC), National Cancer Institute, Cairo University.
This year’s global theme, ‘Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives‘ is more than a slogan. It reflects a truth we witness every day in cancer care: empowered nurses are central to patient safety, treatment quality, continuity of care, and the human experience of healing.
At BCCC, our nurses are not only caregivers. They are patient advocates, safety guardians, educators, coordinators, and trusted companions throughout one of the most difficult journeys a patient may face. They stand beside our patients in moments of fear, uncertainty, treatment, recovery, and hope.
As leaders in oncology care, we know that excellence cannot be achieved through protocols, infrastructure, or technology alone. It is achieved through people who bring competence, compassion, discipline, and purpose to every patient encounter.
Today, we proudly recognize the pivotal role of our nursing staff in advancing the mission of the Breast Cancer Comprehensive Center, the National Cancer Institute, and Cairo University.
To every nurse in our team, thank you for your professionalism, humanity, resilience, and commitment to our patients. Your work is seen. Your impact is deeply valued. Your role is indispensable.
Proud to lead alongside such an inspiring team.
Grateful for your dedication.
Honored to celebrate you.”
