Emad Shash Proud to Publish From Misinformation to Meaningful Engagement

Emad Shash, Leading Cancer Researcher and Director at National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Some publications mark progress.

Others feel like a life milestone.

Today, I am deeply proud to share our newly published article in the Journal of Cancer Education: ‘From Misinformation to Meaningful Engagement: A Methodological Framework for Audiovisual Cancer Education in Low-Resource Settings.’

For me, this is far more than another publication.

It is recognition of a journey built on purpose, conviction, and responsibility. A journey shaped by seeing how many patients and caregivers struggle with misinformation, fear, and limited access to clear and trustworthy cancer education.

Patient education is a core part of quality cancer care; it is not a luxury or an optional extra.

A responsibility to help build educational models that are scientifically sound, culturally relevant, compassionate, and truly understandable for the people we serve.

This work reflects years of commitment to making patient education more human, more accessible, and more impactful in low-resource settings. It also reflects the strength of multidisciplinary collaboration, scientific integrity, and a shared belief that meaningful communication can change the patient experience.

I am sincerely grateful to my outstanding co-authors and collaborators who helped bring this work to life.

Thank you for your trust, dedication, and shared commitment to better patient care.

This publication is for every patient and caregiver who taught us that honest, simple, and empathetic information can heal.

Proud of this milestone. Grateful for the journey. Even more motivated for what comes next.”
