Emad Shash on Six BCCC Abstracts Accepted for ESMO Breast Cancer 2026

Emad Shash, General Manager of the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, and President of the Egyptian Gynaecological Oncology Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“With the beginning of Ramadan, we are thrilled to announce that six of our submitted abstracts have been accepted for presentation at ESMO Breast Cancer 2026, taking place from May 6 to 8 in Berlin.

I want to express my gratitude to our remarkable BCCC, the NCI Cairo University team, our multidisciplinary colleagues, and especially our patient navigators, educators, pharmacists, nurses, data team, and research coordinators. Most importantly, thank you to our patients and caregivers; your trust and participation make this work possible.

Here are the accepted abstracts:
1. Patient navigation integrated into multidisciplinary breast cancer care, prospective patient-reported evaluation from an LMIC center.
2. QR-based digital medication education tool integrated with pharmacist counseling, prospective pilot.
3. Readiness of breast cancer patients and caregivers to use AI-based health tools, Arabic multi-domain survey.
4. Folic Acid for endocrine therapy-induced hot flashes in young breast cancer survivors, prospective controlled 3-arm study.
5. Psychological distress at breast cancer diagnosis, Arabic HADS cross-sectional results.
6. Real-world first-line outcomes in HER2+ unresectable LA/mBC in Egypt, TOBER Registry.

We wish everyone a blessed Ramadan and look forward to sharing these results in Berlin.”
