Emad Shash: Honored to have Participated as a Speaker at the 1st Best of ESMO Levant 2026

Emad Shash, General Manager of the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, and President of the Egyptian Gynaecological Oncology Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Honored and truly grateful to have participated as a speaker at the 1st Best of ESMO Levant 2026 in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq

It was a short but truly lovely two-day visit, rich in science, meaningful discussions, and warm collegial connections.

Bringing the essence of ESMO to the Levant is an important step toward strengthening evidence-based oncology across our region.

In my talk, we focused on a key message in endometrial cancer management:

Biological diversity drives heterogeneous outcomes.
One size does not fit all.

Endometrial cancer is molecularly diverse, and treatment decisions must reflect this complexity. Integrating molecular classification into routine practice is essential to optimize outcomes and deliver precise, patient centered care.

It was also a pleasure reconnecting with dear colleagues and friends who share the same commitment to advancing oncology in our region.

My sincere thanks to
Dr. Ahmed Zuhair Alsammarraie, President of the Iraqi Society of Clinical Oncology, for his leadership and vision, and Dr. Samar Muslim Ali Almehdi for the warm hospitality and excellent organization.

The Levant deserves strong, collaborative, biologically informed oncology. And this is only the beginning.
