Emad Shash, Leading Cancer Researcher and Director at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“As 2025 comes to a close, I pause with a heart full of gratitude.
Thanks God—for every lesson, every challenge, every door that opened at the right time, and every moment that reminded me why we chose this path.
This year was not just a ‘list of publications‘ or busy calendars. It was a year of real work behind the scenes: listening to patients, fixing gaps in the journey, strengthening navigation, improving access, embracing digital solutions responsibly, and insisting that quality and dignity are not luxuries—they are rights.
To my dedicated teams at the Breast Cancer Comprehensive Center (NCI Cairo University) and Shefa Al-Orman Cancer Hospital:
You are the reason progress becomes real. You carry the mission with professionalism, compassion, and resilience—especially on the days when no one sees the effort. I am proud of you, and I learn from you every day.
To my peers, collaborators, and students—in Egypt and beyond:
Thank you for the trust, the debates, the constructive criticism, and the shared belief that we can build models of care that truly fit our region and our people.
And to my family:
Thank you for being my steady ground. For your patience with long hours, late calls, travel, and the emotional weight that healthcare carries. Your support is the quiet strength behind every achievement.
We work for one purpose: to enhance patient care—not only through treatment, but also through clarity, compassion, access, and continuity.
In 2026, we continue—stronger, wiser, and more committed to a patient journey that feels safer, faster, and more human.
Alhamdulillah always.”
