“Congratulations to Dr. Elsa Bernard on receiving a prestigious ERC Starting Grant!
Elsa, who leads the Computational Clinical Oncology Group at Gustave Roussy, has been awarded this highly competitive grant for her project CHIC (Clonal Hematopoiesis in Cancer).
The project will explore how somatic mutations in hematopoietic cells, a phenomenon known as clonal hematopoiesis, contribute to the evolution of both blood cancers and solid tumors. Despite affecting up to 25% of individuals, its biological and clinical consequences remain poorly understood.
Through a multidisciplinary approach combining cutting-edge technologies and unique patient samples, CHIC aims to shed light on:
- How clonal hematopoiesis can transform into aggressive secondary leukemias.
- How mutated immune cells shape the progression of solid tumors and influence treatment response.
This ERC recognition is a major step forward in advancing precision oncology and cancer prevention.
Join us in celebrating Elsa Bernard and wishing her every success in this ambitious project!”
