“A strong opening here in Brussels for the 5 Years EU Cancer Mission Showcase.
In his opening remarks, Marc Lemaître, Director-General for Research and Innovation at the European Commission, underlined a powerful message: the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the EU Cancer Mission have shown what Europe can achieve by working together, where no single country can go alone.
He also stressed that a strategy for health is an imperative.
Five years into the EU Cancer Mission, the focus is now firmly on turning this shared European ambition into impact: connecting research, innovation, policy and people, strengthening cooperation across countries and ensuring that the knowledge and solutions being developed can translate into better cancer prevention, care and quality of life.

As Greece’s National Cancer Mission Hub, ELLOK is here to connect the European Mission with the Greek cancer community, bringing the experience, knowledge and needs of patients and citizens into the conversation, while helping build stronger connections across civic society and the patient community, to research, healthcare, policy and innovation.
The message from Brussels is clear: stronger connections are essential to turning the Cancer Mission into real-world impact. And Greece is part of that journey.”
