“At ELLOK’s 10th Annual Conference this morning, on a day devoted to prevention, the Hellenic Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiades highlighted the success of the “Προλαμβάνω” (Prolamvano) Prevention and Screening platform, through which more than 178,000 Greeks were diagnosed with various conditions and were guided to further assessment and care.
Over half were diagnosed with cancer and are already undergoing treatment, a powerful reminder of the critical role of early detection in the cancer care pathway.
- He also referred to a series of important measures introduced since the last ELLOK conference, clearly underlining progress in improving the patient experience, including:
- the My Health App
- 1566, enabling rapid appointment booking by telephone
- the Electronic Patient File
- progress on the National Cancer Registry
- the successful rollout of Regional Oncological Committees nationwide since July 2025
