Elizabeth Wild։ UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Announces New Mario Lemieux Microbiome Innovation Center

Elizabeth Wild, President at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:

“UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is thrilled to announce the creation of the new Mario Lemieux Microbiome Innovation Center, made possible by a generous foundational gift by the Mario Lemieux Foundation.

The most innovative research and discoveries happen when experts from different disciplines come together with a common cause.

The Mario Lemieux Microbiome Innovation Center will do just that – combining the efforts of oncologists, immunologists and leaders in AI, analytics and other disciplines – to determine the impact that the gut has on the incidence of cancer and the effectiveness of interventions to treat it.

A huge thanks to Thomas Grealish, Nancy Gump Angus, and the Lemieux family, especially Lauren Lemieux Antoni, who championed this concept from the very beginning.

We are looking forward to what Diwakar Davar, Abby Overacre-Delgoffe and the rest of our exceptional team will achieve in the fight against cancer.”
