Elekta Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Introducing our HPV DNA Testing Series.
Every accurate HPV test result begins long before a woman receives her answer.
It begins with dedicated healthcare workers who collect samples, laboratory professionals who ensure every test is performed with precision, and carefully designed systems that guarantee quality at every step. Together, they make early detection possible.
99% of cervical cancers are caused by persistent infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). By detecting HPV before cancer develops, screening gives women the opportunity for early follow-up and treatment long before symptoms appear.
At Elekta Foundation, we have supported cervical cancer screening for more than 480,000 women, alongside more than 360,000 breast cancer screenings. Behind every one of those screenings is a team of people working together – from communities and clinics to laboratories – to help detect women at risk before cervical cancer develops.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll take you behind the scenes of HPV DNA testing.
We’ll follow the journey of a sample from collection to result, explain how HPV DNA testing works, introduce the people behind the process, and explore how strong laboratory systems, innovation and molecular diagnostics support high-quality cervical cancer screening programmes.
Because preventing cervical cancer is about more than a test. It is about people, science and systems working together to save lives.
We look forward to sharing this journey with you!”
