As Kayonza District in Rwanda reaches 71% cervical cancer screening coverage, it is a moment worth celebrating. But it is also an opportunity to recognize the Community Health Workers who have made this progress possible.
They walk from village to village, educate women about cervical cancer prevention, collect HPV samples, and help ensure that those who test positive receive the follow-up care they need.
Because screening is only the first step. It is timely follow-up and treatment that save lives.
At Elekta Foundation, we are proud to support initiatives where local healthcare workers are at the heart of creating sustainable change.
