What It Looks Like to Fight Cervical Cancer on the Ground – Elekta Foundation

Elekta Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:

What does it actually look like to fight cervical cancer on the ground?

At the Elekta Foundation, we’re not just raising awareness; we’re building systems that screen, track, and treat.

One of our key areas of focus is cervical cancer screening, a critical tool in our mission to eliminate this disease. Every two minutes, a woman loses her life to cervical cancer, a disease that is preventable and curable if detected early.

Through our work in Rwanda as part of Mission 2027, we deploy specialised teams, including gynaecologists, patient navigators, and data managers — who work district by district to ensure women are tested, tracked, and treated. Women who test positive for HPV also undergo a breast cancer examination during the same visit.

Because we believe no woman should fall through the cracks. This is what the work looks like. This is why it matters.”
