Elekta Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Mission 2027 is not an ordinary campaign. It’s a commitment.
Mission 2027 is Rwanda’s bold pledge to eliminate cervical cancer by 2027, reaching the WHO 90–70–90 targets three years ahead of the global deadline.
This makes Rwanda one of the most ambitious countries in the world when it comes to women’s cancer care and the first in Africa aiming to eliminate a disease that still claims a woman’s life every two minutes.
The urgency is clear: 18 of the 20 countries with the highest cervical cancer burden globally are in the African region, largely due to limited access to screening and timely treatment.
Mission 2027 shows what becomes possible when political will, strong partnerships, and health system strengthening come together.
At Elekta Foundation, we are proud to support Mission 2027. Because when elimination is possible, acceleration is a responsibility.
Listen to our CEO Lacy Hubbard when she explains why this is more than a campaign and why Rwanda’s leadership can inspire progress far beyond its borders.
