Eftychia Tataridou, Medical Doctor at Theageneio Anticancer Hospital of Thessaloniki, shared on LinkedIn:
“Stage III NSCLC is where multidisciplinary discussion makes a real difference to the treatment plan.
In my talk at the 18th Postgraduate Seminar of Clinical Oncology in Thessaloniki, I focused on the role of radiotherapy in stage IIIA–IIIB disease and the decisions we face in practice: when to use definitive chemoradiotherapy, how to balance tumour coverage with protection of the lungs, heart and oesophagus, and where postoperative radiotherapy may have a role.
The central question is how to give each patient the best chance of cure while keeping treatment tolerable. That requires careful staging, assessment of fitness and a shared plan across specialties.
Thank you to the organisers for the invitation and to the chairpersons and fellow speakers for a thoughtful discussion grounded in clinical experience.”
