Eduard-Alexandru Bonci, Editorial Board Member at Discover Journal Series, Clinical Research Fellow at Champalimaud Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming an increasingly important topic at medical and oncology conferences.
And this matters especially for young cancer care professionals not because AI will replace clinical judgement, but because we need to understand it, question it, and help shape how it is responsibly used in real patient care.
Over the last two months, I have been very happy to give two talks on AI in breast cancer care, covering basic AI concepts, its potential impact in breast cancer, and some of the exciting work we are doing at Champalimaud Foundation through the Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP) – Champalimaud Foundation), especially the Digital Surgery Lab and the Cinderella Project.
I was also delighted to promote European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), the Young ESSO community, and its educational events and opportunities for young surgical oncologists across Europe.
A heartfelt thank you to Pedro Gouveia, João Santinha, Maciej Bobowicz, Matthew Cecchini, Maria Popovics and Prof. Maria João Cardoso for your support, and ideas, while I was preparing and designing the talks.
Grateful for the opportunity to share, learn, and continue the AI conversation with the breast cancer care professionals community (Societatea Nationala de Oncologie Medicala din Romania, RYO – Romanian Young Oncologists, Senologie CH).
And if you want to find out more about AI in medicine, MedicaAI is a must.”
