Eduard-Alexandru Bonci, General Surgeon, Faculty Member at European School of Oncology, Associate Editor at OncoDaily Medical Journal (ODMJ), shared on LinkedIn about a recent article by Shelley Potter et al, published in npj Breast Cancer:
“Excited to share our new publication in npj Breast Cancer
‘A core outcome set for locoregional treatment reporting in neoadjuvant systemic breast cancer treatment trials’
Huge thanks and congrats to Prof. Shelley Potter and Prof. Stuart McIntosh for leading this important work, and to everyone in the PRECEDENT Study Group for the fantastic collaboration!
WHAT we did
We developed a Core Outcome Set (COS) – 15 key items that should always be reported in breast cancer trials using neoadjuvant systemic therapy.
HOW we did it
Over 470 professionals from across the world – including surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and patient advocates – took part in an international Delphi process and consensus meeting
WHY it matters
Standardizing what’s reported about surgery and radiotherapy after NST means future trials will be clearer, more comparable, and ultimately more useful for improving patient care
Grateful to have been part of the PRECEDENT Study Group – an international effort to make research more meaningful.”
