“As a boy, Nishan Tchekmedyian shadowed his father, N. Simon Tchekmedyian, M.D., as he cared for people with cancer. Nishan saw the way his father listened, showed up and steadied his patients on their hardest days.
That image never left him, so he painted his dad in his white coat and gave it as a gift to Simon on Father’s Day. Nishan knew that he, too, wanted to make the same difference.
Decades later, that painting hangs in Nishan’s office at City of Hope Orange County, where he serves as deputy physician-in-chief and practices alongside his father.
Happy Father’s Day to fathers everywhere setting examples for their children.
For me, nothing brings me more joy than being a dad to Elyssa and Alex.”
