Ina Khachatryan: New Case Report on Managing Ecthyma Gangrenosum in Immunocompromised Children

Ina Khachatryan, Assistant Managing Editor at OncoDaily Medical Journal, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“New Case Report in OncoDaily Medical Journal by Walaa Ahmed Abdo Yahya et al.

This article presents a case of a 12-year-old girl with relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia who developed ecthyma gangrenosum caused by high-level AmpC-producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Despite severe neutropenia and sepsis, she achieved full recovery without surgical intervention, following 25 days of targeted antibiotics and topical citric acid wound care.

The case underscores the need for early recognition, culture-guided therapy, and multidisciplinary management in immunocompromised children.
