“Our CEO, Elisabetta Zanon, was at the European Parliament yesterday, highlighting the need to strengthen cancer prevention and screening across Europe. Special thanks to European Parliament Vice-President Victor NEGRESCU for the invitation.
Using ECO’s own European Cancer Screening Policy Index and the HPV Prevention Policy Atlas, she focused on significant disparities between European countries in access, coverage and implementation. Closing these gaps will require continued political commitment, better implementation and sustained investment across Europe.
It was a great opportunity to get perspectives from and engage with policymakers, including Health Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi, Dr. Dr. Florika Fink-Hooijer, Director-General of HERA, Adrian Streinu-Cercel, President of the Romanian Senate Health Committee, as well as MEPs Tilly Metz, Nikos Papandreou, Michalis Hadjipantela, and Vytenis Andriukaitis.”
