European Cancer Organisation (ECO) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“As cancer care becomes increasingly digital, cybersecurity is no longer just an IT issue, it is an issue that effects the safety of each and every patient.
From genomic sequencing and AI-assisted diagnostics to radiotherapy systems and cross-border clinical trial data, modern oncology depends on secure and resilient digital infrastructure.
In our response to the latest proposed EU Cybersecurity Act, we are calling for:
- Dedicated cybersecurity support for healthcare providers.
- EU funding aligned with cybersecurity obligations for hospitals and cancer centres.
- Stronger support for lower-capacity member states to improve resilience.
- Cybersecurity training designed with input from the health sector.”
