Innocent H. Peter: Grateful to eCancer for Sparking My Journey in Cancer Research

Innocent H. Peter, Study Coordinator and Research Scientist at Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI), shared a post on LinkedIn:

“My very first travel and my first time boarding a plane was supported by eCancer to attend my first-ever cancer conference. That experience sparked my deep interest in cancer research, which later led me to train at IARC-WHO and opened doors to many other incredible opportunities that have shaped my career.

Meeting the eCancer team again here at AORTIC 2025 in Tunisia truly feels amazing, my journey in cancer research owes them a great deal and remains forever grateful.

During our conversations, we reflected on one major challenge in African research publishing the long time to publication. One of many key reason is the limited pool of reviewers in some professional fields. As scientists, we must cultivate the capacity to review others’ work, not only to strengthen our scientific communities but also to accelerate the dissemination of impactful research.”

Runcie C.W. Chidebe, Executive Director at Project PINK BLUE, shared this post, adding:

“Thanks for sharing, Innocent H. Peter Uggh

Danny Burke, Ellie, Mary and the team at eCancer are doing a phenomenal work.

Working every single day to support oncology researchers and their from low-resource areas.”
