Drew Moghanaki: Early Detection is Key amd This Law Helps More People Get Screened

“The governor of New York State just signed bill S2000A into law which will now require insurance plans to fully cover lung cancer screening and any follow up diagnostic testing without copay – removing a major financial barrier to lifesaving care. In her statement, lasting 15 minutes, she spoke passionately about the 14,000 people developing lung cancer every year in her state.

This is a malignancy that is very curable when caught early, and yet it remains the #1 cancer killer because most politicians aren’t prioritizing early detection. This bill will certainly help with that cause and hopefully inspire more politicians to care about lung cancer too!
