“Thanks to the organizers of this year’s Indiana University Review and Interpretation of the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting. I have attended this meeting almost yearly since I was a fellow, so being asked to deliver a (hopefully) fun keynote to this group was a genuine pleasure.
Thanks to our great chair and emcee, Nabil Adra, MD, who kept a long day moving. Best line of the meeting went to Rita Assi, MD: ‘In a world full of carcinogens, be someone’s p53.’ I am trying, Rita!
And a special treat was getting to see my dear friend Trisha Wise-Draper MD, PhD, in her new role. Cincinnati is losing Trish to Indiana, where she will now serve as director for the Indiana University School of Medicine Division of Hematology/Oncology and deputy director of the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. She will keep doing great things there. Congratulations, Trish! Cheering for you from Cincinnati.”
