Douglas Flora: To Make Tomorrow Different From Today, Do Something Different Today

Douglas Flora, Executive Medical Director of Yung Family Cancer Center at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, President-Elect of the Association of Cancer Care Centers, and Editor in Chief of AI in Precision Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn:

‘To make tomorrow different from today, do something different today.’

Warning, personal post: Wrapped up an incredibly busy week and carved out a few days for fall break before conference season kicks into high gear.

Golden first, now Evergreen for a couple days, then Denver for ACCC. My back is finally cooperating again, even allowing a few short hikes. Great to feel that crisp mountain air—and tasting some crisp mountain beer. (Hey, we ARE in Golden, CO, home of Coors.)

Brought some books along because apparently I can’t fully unplug. But honestly? Reading about strategy and the 80/20 principle while actually taking a break feels less hypocritical than just talking about it.

The highlighted passage that keeps sticking with me:
“…to make tomorrow different from today, do something different today.”

Heading into the next few crazy months ahead of conferences and meetings with that mindset. Hoping to help make the months ahead actually matter—not just fill calendars.

Today, though? Coffee, creekside, with my trusty iPad, Plaud, and Claude—still lots to do!”
