“New data from our group spearheaded by Giuliano Filippini Velázquez in Blood on 2nd alloSCT for relapsed MDS (n=313).
Switching donors (DoC) for alloSCT2 significantly reduces relapse risk (HR 0.56, p=.02)-a benefit not yet seen in alloSCT2 for acute leukemia.
However, increased NRM offsets absolute OS, though 2-yr OS has risen to 51% in recent cohorts (2018-2023). Long 1st remission (≥12 mos) and KPS ≥90 remain key positive survival predictors.”
