“How intensive does induction therapy need to be in primary CNS lymphoma?
Our international retrospective study of 355 transplant-eligible patients across 11 centers found similar transplantation rates and survival outcomes across MATRix, R-MPV/R-MT, and the reduced-intensity Alberta protocol. MATRix was associated with more dose reductions, ICU admissions, and treatment-related deaths.
Given the retrospective design and potential confounding, these findings require prospective validation but invite reflection on the balance between treatment intensity and tolerability.
