We are fortunate to live in an unprecedented time of cancer innovation.
For those of us with loved ones with cancer, and who treat patients with cancer, the pace of innovation is palpable, lifesaving, and critical to patient care. I was struck this weekend by the article in the NYT where Dr. Hong discusses the paradigm shift of research accruals abroad. Within the United States, it is so critical to harness Community Oncology. This is where the patients are. I am so grateful for the leadership of Scott Paulson, Jeff Yorio, Noelle Cloven, Thomas Hutson, Mike Lattanzi at Texas Oncology for the leadership in this space to increase clinical trial offerings across Texas communities. And to David R. Spigel, Skip Burris, at Sarah Cannon Research Institute led by Dee Anna Smith for making this a reality for The US Oncology Network.
