Debra Patt: The Power of Collaboration in Community Oncology

Debra Patt, President at Community Oncology Alliance, shared on LinkedIn:

“The Power of Collaboration in Community Oncology.

In the evolving landscape of cancer care, collaboration and sharing innovative ideas are more vital than ever. Community Oncology Alliance (COA) exemplifies this by aligning payers and providers to foster partnerships that drive meaningful change.

Our collective goals are clear: to improve access to cutting-edge research through clinical trials within local communities, develop value-based care solutions that truly meet patient needs, and enhance overall access to high-quality care.

Together, by working across boundaries and sharing insights, we can accelerate progress and ensure every cancer patient receives the support and treatment they deserve – closer to home.

In a recent GAO report, hospital-employed physicians are up to 47% from less than 30% in 2012, a trend that increases the cost of cancer care as well as other services. Likely, this is impacted by the policy that continues to foster consolidation. Read more.

Only by working with partners: Hospitals, Physician Practices, Payers, Patient Groups, Biopharma, and Government…will we influence meaningful change.

Grateful to be joined at the recent COA Payer Exchange Summit with my colleagues, Rhonda Henschel, Travis Brewer, Manish Gupta, and Kashyap Patel, to drive progress in this space.

Let’s continue to innovate, collaborate, and transform community oncology for a healthier future.”
